Brief update, after too long:

- I just played a short set at 4'33 Art Space, located in Guangzhou's so-called "Higher Education Mega-Center" aka Daxuecheng aka University Town. Xiao flute plus computer (using my live-coding framework). [Audio excerpt](display.php?src=works.md#artspace520)

- Upcoming: May 31, Xinghai Conservatory concert hall, a new piece *Binary Codes* for computer and variable ensemble will be premiered. Note this is Xinghai Conservatory's concert hall in HEMC/Daxuecheng, *not* Xinghai Concert Hall on Ersha Island. Also featuring works by Jacob TV, Pierre Stordeur, Sofia Gubaidulina, Anna Thorvaldsdottir, and John Luther Adams.

### Performance in 4'33 ArtSpace, May 20

4'33 ArtSpace is one of those interesting grass-roots arts centers that are springing up in surprising places in China: very small, shoestring budget, but people pull together to make non-mainstream music and art happen. Chinese society tends to be conformist, so it's refreshing to find places like this where people make beautiful things for the love of it. I like to play in this sort of space.
